Spiced Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 Crimson Snow® apples
  • 200g butter
  • 150g panela sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 200g spelt flour
  • Pecans
  • 1 packet of Royal baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the black molasses glaze:

  • 150g butter
  • 300g powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons black molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC, top and bottom heat.
  2. Prepare a round, deep cake pan.
    Mix the butter and sugar using a mixer. Add the eggs to the mixture and continue mixing.
  3. Incorporate the grated apple, pecans, flour, spices, and salt.
  4. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 35 minutes. Leave to cool.
  5. To make the glaze, beat the butter and powdered sugar with electric whisk, then add the molasses.
  6. Spread the glaze over the cake.
